A Reference Architecture for Building Digital Twins

David McKee
Slingshot Simulations

Abstract: Digital Twins have had many definitions over the last few years and there have been many attempts to define a reference architecture or best practice guide for building these systems. In this presentation David will present the results of the collaborative effort between over 300 companies at the OMG Digital Twin Consortium to agree on both a single definition of a digital twin as well as a reference architecture that aligns with current best practice. We will talk briefly about example open source solutions across this stack and then explore how Slingshot has been approaching the digital twin space with opportunities for collaboration.

Speaker bio: Dr David McKee is the CEO, CTO and founder at Slingshot Simulations, a Royal Academy of Engineering enterprise fellow and chair at the technology and open source working groups at the OMG Digital Twin Consortium. David has been building large scale digital twin solutions across automotive, aerospace, and cities since 2013. He is a guest lecturer on digital twins at both the universities of Leeds and Oxford.
